Test whether your Antivirus is Active or Not

This trick may sound funny, but it really helps you to know whether you anti virus is working.
Dont worry this trick wont harm you computer.

Open Notepad and type the following code

X5O!P%@AP[4\PZX54(P^)7CC)7}$EICAR-STANDARD-ANTIVIRUS-TEST-FILE!$H+H*

save the file as virus.exe

If the file gets detected then your anti virus is working properly. If not it is recommended to take some serious actions
